Well I went to work early today and was asked to clean the fans. The fans were really high up as the ceiling was raised. So the first task was to look for a ladder. After combing the firestation intensively, I and my senior (Lin) settled for a rickety and worn WOODEN ladder. Climbing that ladder was scary and a real hazard to safety. It was wobbling all the way as I scaled it. x(

The fans were covered in thick coats of dust too x.X as though no one has cleaned it in decades! (which I sincerely think is the case). Dust fell from the fans like black snow and the pail in which we washed our cloths looked like a pail of black paint. After completing my tasks, I walked away with nothing but a neck ache and really dirty hands =( .

Singaporeans have now shocked me to a new level. When I first started out, I was appalled at how inconsiderate drivers are. Not only do they not give way to ambulances, they have the cheek to even cut in out of nowhere. Well this is just the bright side of things. People think we are public SLAVES, making all kind of requests and putting the blame on the ambulance crew if they arn't fullfilled. Today, we had a case of a drunkard ( the most horrible type of case althought they are easy to handle, just call in the police xD ). After checking his vitals, he wanted to go home and said that we weren't helping him. In addidtion to that, he pointed to my paramedic ( the regular and more highly trained medic xD, also the person in-charge of the ambulance) and said ' you shit la you! you kok ar? ' a few times. My paramedic got so pissed off he walked away. Poor thing =( , so we had no choice but to wait for the police who shortly arrived. Medics/Paramedics should be pitied i.m.o. , imagine a job with no lunch breaks, uncourteous customers and a bumpy ride x.X all to save people who are most of the time ungrateful.

On a happier note, Irene (Suiker) is back from her 2 month holiday in her home country Indonesia. YAY! Haha. Her kittens are really cute V_V I wanna pet them! =x
